Wedding chapel, packages for Carnival Miracle

The new, 88,500-ton Carnival Mracle which enters service on Feb.27,2004, will have a wedding chapel and offer special and affordable wedding packages.

The ship's chapel will be an intimate and elegant facility with stained-glass windows and Old Testament scenes along with a central aisle leading to the stage, and a private dressing area for the bride.

Weddings will be held on embarkation day while the ship is docked at its home port, Jacksonville, Florida, or at its three other homeports - Baltimore, New York and Tampa.

The 'Just for the Bride & Groom' package begins at US$1,350 and includes an official civil ceremony, champagne toast with keepsake flutes, flowers for bride and groom, a wedding cake, pre-recorded music and decorated aisle and photo services.

The 'Welcome Aboard' package starts at US$1,350 and includes all the amenities of the first package plus a reception with one-hour open bar, hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, a two-tiered cake and coffee service.

The 'Deluxe Romance' package starts at US$1,450 and includes a 90-minute reception and ice carving as well as the other features.

Carnival Miracle will operate a series of 12 three- to six-day voyages through Apr.17, 2004, marking the first time that Carnival has operated from Jacksonville. It will also offer seven-day departures from Baltimore and New York before repositioning to Tampa for year-round seven-day western Caribbean cruises beginning Nov.7.

Princess Adds Live Wedding Cam

Now, the cruise line is giving the bride and groom the chance to invite their shoreside friends to watch the nuptials live via web cam.The Wedding Cam will beam a live picture from the ship's wedding chapel that can be accessed by clicking on a special link. The image will refresh once a minute, allowing viewers to follow the proceedings as they happen. The camera will be used only when a couple chooses the option prior to their ceremony. If you're planning on getting married at sea, Princess will take care of all the details with several different wedding and reception packages that include flowers, music, a photo package, champagne, cake and other extras.
